We've had a busy month full of Christmas activities.
Sunday, December 1 when we got home from Washington we set up the tree. Everyone has spent a lot of time looking at the lights and hiding Lego men in it.

We saw Santa at our ward Christmas party.
Eli said he wanted a monster truck.
Avery said she wanted a teddy bear.
Noah said he wanted some legos.
And then Gage acted silly and said he was 5 years old and wanted baby toys for Christmas. Santa said he could arrange that!
Lucy looked happy for just a second!
(and Santa looked tired and overwhelmed!)

We braved the very cold temperatures and went to Temple Square to see the lights with our friends. Nine (almost 10) kids were very well behaved...maybe we froze them into good behavior.
Avery walked around with her little arm around her friend Kyle the entire time. She was such a little mommy. She says she can't decide who she wants to marry, Linkin or Kyle. She gets pretty funny when you ask her about it she says they are both cute and very nice, and then cries she doesn't know what to do!

Santa Bear (our version of Elf on a Shelf) has pulled a few pranks. The favorite one he pulls every year is when he decorates the tree with their underwear!

Gage and Noah sang in their first Christmas Sing at school! Our school in Washington didn't do this and we were on break last year during Christmas thanks to year round school.

My parents have been in town this week. We used our pass and took them and the little three to Thanksgiving Point.

Friday night we decorated gingerbread houses! Grandma spoiled us and bought us kits this year.

Friday night I thought I would try a new tradition and let the kids sleep under the tree the Friday they get out for Christmas break. It took them a while to calm down and go to sleep, but they finally did!
They've had lots of time lounging around in their pj's playing their games since being out of school!
And we have had lots and lots of snow this month! I think it's pretty. But every morning Eli wakes up and says it is time to open his presents because there is snow so that means it's Christmas!
We have been blessed to have such wonderful family, neighbors and friends. Little Secret Santas have dropped gifts off for our kids on more than one occasion. It's humbling and brings tears to my eyes to see the generosity of others.
We have been blessed through our trials this year. It may be tempting at times to sit and make a list of all the bad things and reasons we should just give up, but we have seen blessings each and every day. This Christmas we might not have a lot of material things to give, but we have a warm house, food on our table, families that love and support us and and are so thankful for this wonderful time of year. Those are the blessings that matter.
